Image result for the purge election year movie poster
Audience; this movie would not be suitable for viewers under the age of 15, or if they are not used to the horror genre due to the fact that this movie contains violence, swearing and scenes that may disturb the viewer.
The people seeing this will realise that it is a horror movie due to the use of shadows and dark colours. The use of the colour red could possibly make the viewer for-see scenes containing blood (there is also blood smeared on the females dress toward the right) The people that designed this poster are really intelligent as they decided to put a contrasting colour (green) in the center, this would grab the publics attention straight away. Also the multiple use of the American flag, and American themed costumes (the statue of liberty and the president mask) show that this movie could link into the patriotic side.
Another thing that the public will notice is the text, the faded colours within the main title give it an eerie feel and there is another reappearance of the American flag. The text further beneath it that says 'for one night only, America invites you to its annual tradition' this adds onto the point that the subtext of the film falls into the patriotic category.
Also the gas mask worn by the character on the left side will be another indication that this is apart of  what the movie is about because gas masks of that style were famously known to be worn during World War 1&2, this will give the impression that this movie contains conflict and a type of war between two beliefs (which if you were to watch the movie you would be able to comprehend).
Overall the film poster is very unique and is a success when it comes advertising and promoting the movie. I've already seen this movie along with the others in the trilogy and I recommend it to anyone that is into the horror genre.
