Image result for kidulthood film poster

Kidulthood

The poster features 7 teenagers in casual clothing, 4 boys and 3 girls, sitting and standing on what seems to be a rooftop.

In kidulthood, there are reoccurring scenes of teenagers being put in a negative light. The urban background, the clothes they have been put in and the prop used in the film poster highlights the stereotype the teenagers are a 'disturbance to society'. This could potentially put a negative thought into some of the more close-minded audiences. which could cause them to feel threatened or potentially scared of teenagers in real life.

The fact that this is an insight to the lives of teenagers and how they experience it with the constant pressure of feeling like society is turned against them, will make the public want to see this movie more.

However, it could be argued that not many people would want to watch this movie as it may be seen as a movie that promotes gang violence, teenage pregnancy, drug abuse and vandalism. Although the film poster doesn't really give off much, the background, props and clothing once again highlights the stereotype that has been put on teenagers.

WWW; your Q4 answer shows some potential but i think the main positive to take from this assessment is that its a useful wake up call if we seriously call if we seriously want to reach the top grades

EBI; in Q4, you need more depth and detail to reach the top levels... what about the other side of the argument

      questions   mark

  1. 1mark
  2. 0
  3. 0
  4. 9
I could of achieved more marks in the 4th question if i wrote in more depth and included views and facts from another perspective. I wasn't able to complete question 3 as I was not in the lesson due to a PE exam that I had on that day. That's what let me down the most in the assessment.

Ownership and control: blog task

Facebook bought Instagram for $1bn in 2012 because Facebook and Instagram are very similar social media companies meaning that they're in competition and since Instagram has more users than Facebook, they decided to to buy the rights to Instagram so that Facebook makes more money and wipes out the competition as well

One benefit of companies being in vertical integration is that they can wipe out their competition which means that they are less likely to lose money. Also, the fact that they own many companies will mean that their yearly profit will increase

What are the benefits for media companies of horizontal integration?

Subsidiaries are companies that are owned by companies that are potentially larger than them

Disney's Frozen, Pixar's Cars and Fox's Simpsons are 3 examples of companies that have used their programmes and movies to create other products such as toys, games and spin-off programmes.

6) Pixar, Lucas Studios, Marvel Studios, Dimension Films, Skellington Productions and Touchstone Pictures are some of a few subsidiary companies owned by Disney

7) Why did Disney buy Fox - what are the benefits?
