Lara Croft first appeared in a gamer that was created in 1996 made by Edos. Lara Croft Go was created by Core design (a British gaming company). Lara Croft Go is a combination of two successful games; Hitman Go and Tomb Raider. This was the first game to feature a female as the protagonist and a leader rather than the assistant, or backing character. The game was influenced by the well-known movie, Indiana Jones. The genre is action-adventure. It features many fight scenes against villains and tools to assist the character along the way. It is based on Indiana Jones' daughter who becomes a famous archaeologist that encounters new thing whilst trying to uncover the deepest parts of the world.
Other characters such as the Queen of Venom have been included in the game to add more of a challenge. The original tomb raider included settings like ancient cave and tomb burials. Lara Croft go is set in jungles and temples. Although the idea of Lara being the main character has stayed the same, things such as the skills, outfits, and facial features have been altered.
The game has been turned into different franchises such as movies, toys have also been added to the collection. The game is also available on tablets and phones, which would indicate that the target is audience is more toward females considering the fact that woman tend to play more mobile games. This game would most likely be played in someones free time such as waiting at the bus stop. Players will enjoy the slightly challenging stages that test the mind. People that enjoy the tomb raider franchise will enjoy this game the most.
Usually, in video games, women are over sexualized. Lara Croft slightly reinforces this. Giving the character a slim waist with wide hips create the classical figure that is most desired. However, this game subverts most stereotypes enforced on women. Usually, women are considered as reliant on a male figure. In this game, Lara is her own hero. Most video games would be considered as sexist because prefecture male characters as the most dominant, they make it seem women are not as strong and smart as they are in life. Laura Croft would be seen as an icon and a role model to the female population, this is because she is intelligent, athletic and she can provide for herself

The first videos created were very 2 dimensional, they did not really offer a range of movement for games that involved a character. The games were very simplistic with not that much happening within but were still very entertaining for the people that played them.
As the number of games increased, the qualities of them increased also. The games were now available on different platforms and first-person player mode was newly introduced. More range of movement was used and the picture quality of the games was more realistic and less pixelated
Multiplayer and/or ones that include a narrative are the ones that are the most beloved. These two factors usually make a game really popular, this is because it allows people to compete against friends and family or other people around the world. Also because u are playing against real people and not against the system. Having a narrative also makes a game popular as it builds a sort of “relationship” between the characters and the player and also makes them want to play for longer if there is a part of a story to uncover
Some people (mainly adults) will say that some video games are not appropriate for the younger generation and that they focus on controversial topics. Some may also say that it can become addictive which distracts kids from more important things
Fortnite is a multiplayer game that allows people from around the world to compete against each other to be the one that is victorious. There are different game modes; solo, duos, squads and a new mode, 50 v 50. Within each of these games, you have to eliminate the opposition until you win. On the way to success, you need to search different areas and building for “loot” which can consist of different guns, ammo, and things to help bring your health back up. Also, you need collect materials by destroying objects from your surrounding environment. These materials will help you build to protect you from the enemies.
Fortnite was a quick success, with up to 40m players worldwide, it is clear that this game is well loved.
This game is very popular because it’s is free and accessible on nearly all platforms. The game features some comedic aspects that keep the players entertained. The bright colours and costumes also fascinate some players
"Except that the game has an inbuilt sliding difficulty which depends on the level of each player. It is designed to award even the worst players so they keep coming back for more. It will also occasionally wipe out better players so they don't get bored.
This means your child is never really challenged, meaning that your point no. about development is off the table. They just learn to get given rewards rather than actually strive for them."
I disagree with this point. This is because it just does not make sense. When fortnite became popular, loads of people decided to download the game. Now I’m pretty sure that 95% of them were originally terrible at the game and now most of them are the top players. The more you play fortnite, the better you get.
