Mr Halsey's feedback: total 17, grade 5
WWW- The first half of this exam is very strong indeed and demonstrates the excellent start you've made in media this year
EBI- The key area to improve actually exam technique; you do not write enough for the later high mark questions (Q8+Q9) and this costs you crucial marks
1) 1 mark
2) 1 mark
3) 2 marks
4) 2 marks
5) 1 mark
6) 3 marks
7) 2 marks
8) 2 marks
9) 3 marks
I did not get any media terminology wrong
One of my stronger questions were question 6 as i managed to get full marks by describing fully and I identified the different factors of the film poster.
One of my weaker questions was question 9 because I didn't manage to finish it which caused me to lose marks
Question 9; charities use children in their advertisements to make the audience (consumers) fell a sense of remorse as they will see the children as being innocent and vulnerable. The producer will know this (possibly from marketing/promoting research) and will incorporate it in their adverts causing the viewers to have an urge to help.
Producers would typically put the children in a deprived environment, as they know that this would cause viewers to have sympathy for the children, therefore, motivating them to be interested in the media that is being shown. They would also ask questions within the commercial that would put the viewers in a sort of predicament as to whether they will be generous to help or not
